Something Laurie laughs about is that she consulted a psychic about the name ‘Butterfly Workshops’ and was told that she should call it ‘Eagle Workshops’ because butterflies are too flighty. She then sought out the butterfly expert from the Smithsonian Institute and asked if caterpillars had a choice as to whether or not they could transform.He explained “No, they have no choice, it’s in their DNA. They, in fact, must transform!” Little known to many of us, while in the pupa stage, cells form and begin eating the caterpillar cells. These are butterfly cells, so in essence, the caterpillar must die unto itself to become its new self. Laurie believes that we all must do this and that humans fool themselves into believing that they can prevent change. Prevent change? Impossible she asserts. Transformation and change? Inevitable for humans and butterflies!
